From June 21–24, the Asociación Madrileña de Empresarios de Restauración (Madrid Association of Businesses in the Restaurant Industry), in conjunction with Grupo Mahou-San Miguel, will be hosting the eighth edition of this gastronomic festival under the theme, “Mastery: The art of pouring a beer”.
Free of charge and open daily from noon to 16:30 and 8pm to midnight, this festival seeks to recreate the traditional Madrid ambience that is so important to the city’s tapas culture, with stands representing some of the city’s most iconic taverns, bars, cafeterias and restaurants, as well as some of its more innovative tapas establishments.
To make it easy for visitors to enjoy a huge selection of delicious tapas, each of the participating 38 restaurants will offer three tapas for the price of 1.20 Euros each. For another 1.20 Euros, you can accompany your tapa with a Mahou-San Miguel caña (small beer). Other events will include a tapas competition among the participating chefs, for which visitors to the festival will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite tapas.
