The fourth edition of the annua National Beef Conference is scheduled to take place on June 21st and 22nd in Madrid.
Author: Adrienne Smith/©ICEX.
Hosted by the Veterinary School of the Madrid’s Universidad Complutense and organized by the Organización Interprofesional de la Carne de Vacuno Autóctono de Calidad – INVAC – (Interprofessional Organization for Native Quality Beef), the theme of this year’s conference will be “Europe and its cattle-raisers through the CAP and differentiated quality products”. CAP (PAC in Spanish – Política Agraria Común) refers to the Common Agricultural Policy of the European Union.
The conference is open to industry professionals and other interested parties who use this annual event to come together and share ideas and perspectives on the current state of the Spanish beef industry, in addition to discussing plans and exchanging concerns about the future. This year’s program, which is broken down in various sessions over the course of two days, features a long list of talks and round table discussions about a variety of themes. This year’s topics include the following: rural development and biodiversity in Europe; native cattle breeds; legislative reforms; tourism and gastronomy and the promotion of differentiated quality products; research, development and innovation in the industry; communications tools for talking to consumers; and the international image of Spanish products with the differentiated quality seal; among others.
In addition to all of these fascinating topics, another highlight of the conference is the tasting session, which will take place during the afternoon of the final day of the conference.
