Hannah Collins Traces Food from Origins to Ferran Adrià.
This July 6th, the Fundació Suñol in Barcelona will begin displaying the work of photographer, filmmaker and writer, Hannah Collins.
Author: Adrienne Smith/©ICEX.
Entitled the Fragile Feast, this new exposition by London-born Collins, will feature 250 photographs that trace the routes of thirty-five gastronomic products from their place of origin to the place on the table, depicting along the way their transformations from product to ingredient, and finally into culinary masterpiece. And what’s more, Collins photographs are not based on just any ‘table’, but none other than that of elBullí restaurant and world-renowned chef, Ferran Adrià . To create this visual body of work, Collins circled the globe in search of the sources of some of the most unique and stunning ingredients used in the equally unique kitchen at elBullí.
In the words of the author from her website, “The resulting photographs document global connections, geographical diversity, historical precedents and sublime aesthetic refinement.” In addition to this exhibition, Collins has compiled the photographs into the book, The Fragile Feast. Routes to Ferrán Adrià , edited by Mark Holborn.
