PRODECA Supports Quality Foods from Catalonia

This September, PRODECA will be sponsoring promotional activities aimed at presenting Catalonian top-quality food products to buyers from Scandinavia, Austria and Switzerland.

Catalonia’s Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, Food and the Environment, together with PRODECA, Clúster Gourmet and the Lleida Chamber of Commerce, has organized a series of commercial activities oriented towards buyers from Scandinavian countries, as well as Austria and Switzerland.

The activities, which will take place in the PRODECA headquarters on September 13th and 14th, 2012, will consist of interviews between foreign buyers and twenty food companies from Catalonia, who will present their products to these foreign representatives from gourmet food distributors and retailers.

Scandinavian countries have the potential to be significant buyers of gourmet Spanish products, thanks to their relatively high incomes and demonstrated interest in high quality products from other cultures. For their part, Austria and Switzerland have an outstanding relationship with the gourmet sector, as well as a significant organic foods market.

The Promotora d’Exportacions Catalanes SA, or PRODECA, is an organization connected to Catalonia’s Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, Food, and the Environment, that is dedicated to assisting Catalonia’s food industry by supporting foreign trade, and the internationalization and promotion of food quality.
