ICEX Training Program Participants to Present Original Creations
Joan Roca from El Celler de Can Roca will form part of the jury for the upcoming Valladolid International Tapas Competition.

This international competition, the fifth edition of its kind, takes place annually in Valladolid just prior to the celebration of the Spanish National Pinchos and Tapas Competition.
This year’s international competitors will be none other than the participants in the current edition of the ICEX Training Program in Spanish Gastronomy. The 2013 edition of this twenty-one week educational training program includes a six-week Spanish language and gastronomy training period, followed by a thirteen-week internship stage in a renowned Spanish restaurant and a two-week field trip around Spain.
For the competition, the ten young participating chefs will vie for three top prizes, which will be presented to the best tapas concepts at this competition.
In addition to Chef Joan Roca, the jury will also consist of Rafael Anson, the President of the Spanish Royal Academy of Gastronomy; Oriol Castro, Chef de Cuisine of former restaurant elBulli and nowadays in Compartir restaurant; and Fernando Salazar, the Head of Food and Beverages for the prestigious international hotel chain Wyndham Hotels & Resorts
