International Garlic Fair in Las Pedroñeras

Every year, the International Garlic Fair held in Las Pedroñeras (Cuenca, Castile-La Mancha) attracts producers, sales representatives and all kinds of professionals from the agro-food sector who are keen to see the latest developments in the garlic industry.

During the last week of July, the town of Las Pedroñeras (Cuenca, Castile-La Mancha), the self-proclaimed garlic capital of the world, is completely given over to a range of activities taking place alongside the event, lending a community feel and making it one of the town's main festivals.

Stretching over four days, the festival program includes tapas routes, gastronomic tastings, wine tastings, concerts and Las Pedroñeras National Purple Garlic Cooking Competition, which awards a prize to the best recipe of all those presented by the cooks who have made it to the final. The winning recipe must include the local star product, characterized by the purple color of its cloves, which are covered by a white layer that gives the typical garlic color and shape.
