Gulfood 2012

The Spanish Institute of Foreign Trade (ICEX), is organizing Spain's Official Pavilion at the GULFOOD fair, set to be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre in the Dubai World Trade Centre (United Arab Emirates) from 19 to 22 February 2012.

This annual food and non-alcoholic drinks sector trade fair is now in its 17th year and since the first event in 1987 it has been targeted exclusively at professionals: commercial agents, importers and distributors.

The fair has become a strategic and obligatory date to keep for the food sector, not only with a view to identifying market niches and seizing business opportunities in a region with high economic growth rates and a high demand for quality food, but also for networking with business partners from a wide range of locations.

The UAE food market is undergoing constant expansion with growth prospects of around 4-5% on average during the 2011 to 2014 period. The United Arab Emirates, and Dubai in particular, is the gateway to the Gulf countries and the Middle East, with 30% of imported goods being re-exported. This makes trading here a highly attractive proposition, as it opens up access to 40 million inhabitants in the Gulf area.
