The Museo del Cerdo y de la Matanza (Ibérico Pig and Traditional Slaughter Museum), in the town of Burgo de Osma (Soria, Castile-Leon), hosts a large collection of Ibérico pig-related objects. The exhibition includes traditional slaughter equipment and there is audiovisual material that explains the importance of pork in the human diet. The museum was set up to complement the range of cuisine on offer at the Virrey Palafox restaurant and at its Jornadas Gastronómicas de la Matanza (Culinary Conferences on the Traditional Slaughter). It only opens in winter, during the matanza season.
