The restaurant is located in a rural, mountain environment, in the surroundings of Errentería (a few miles from the city of San Sebastián) and has views lovely views of the Basque mountains. One of its attractions, as well as the innovative and surprising food by Andoni Luis Aduriz, is a small vegetable garden alongside the restaurant where many of the herbs, flowers and vegetables used in the dishes are grown. Since 2009, Mugaritz forms part of the Ixo group of restaurants, managed by Andoni Luis Aduriz and Bixente Arrieta, which includes other prestigious businesses like El Bodegón de Alejandro and the Ni Neu Kursaal, both in the city of San Sebastián, as well as culinary research projects.
