Museo de la Naranja (Orange Museum)

The Museo de la Naranja (Orange Museum) is the only one of its kind in Europe. The purpose behind it is to preserve and spread knowledge about the history of the citrus fruit sector in Valencia and in Spain as a whole. The head office is in Burriana (Castellón, Valencian Community), a city surrounded by orange groves. Since the early 20th century this city has been at the forefront of the orange growing and marketing business. Walking around the rooms, visitors are taken on a tour through the history of the cultivation, trade and transportation of oranges and advertising in the citrus fruit products sector. The museum organizes the annual Certamen Internacional de Fotografía de la Taronja (International Orange Photography Competition). It also publishes books and catalogs on its exhibitions.
